HOW DO I USE FLUORESCENCE IMAGING IN LIVER SURGERY: EAST VS WEST

Saturday 28 November
13:45-14:45 GMT+1

Synopsis: A/Prof. Takeaki Ishizawa will represent the East and Prof. David Fuks will represent the West to showcase how they use fluorescence imaging in their practice. A/Prof. Nick O’Rourke will moderate the discussion to talk about the similarities and differences in the disease state and surgical management in the East and the West.

Presentation title: How do I use fluorescence imaging in liver surgery: A perspective from the East
Presenter: A/Prof Takeaki Ishizawa, Department of Surgery, the University of Tokyo Hospital
Dr. Takeaki Ishizawa is a lector at the Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery Division, Department of Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo. Dr. Ishizawa received his medical degree in 2000 from The University of Chiba, in Chiba Japan and then went on to complete his Ph.D. in 2008 at The University of Tokyo (Prof. Makuuchi and Prof. Kokudo). In 2011, Dr. Ishizawa stayed in Paris as a fellow at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris (Prof. Gayet). Dr. Ishizawa performed more than 300 laparoscopic and open HPB surgeries at the Cancer Institute Hospital, Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research in Tokyo, between 2014 and 2017.
